1. Purpose and Commitment
A-Level Exam Mastery is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child and young person who participates in our workshops, community, or any other service we provide.
This policy applies to all A-Level Exam Mastery facilitators, staff, contractors, and volunteers. Compliance is mandatory. Breach of this policy will result in immediate suspension pending investigation and may result in termination of engagement and referral to statutory authorities.
For the purposes of this policy, a child or young person is defined as any individual under the age of 18, or any individual over 18 who has been identified as a vulnerable adult.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all activities conducted under the A-Level Exam Mastery name, including:
Live workshop sessions on Wise.live
Discord community participation
WhatsApp communication (broadcast and group channels)
One-to-one communication (facilitator–student or facilitator–parent)
All recorded content produced by A-Level Exam Mastery
3. Designated Safeguarding Lead
A-Level Exam Mastery maintains a named, trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at all times. The DSL is responsible for:
Receiving and managing all safeguarding concerns
Making decisions about referrals to statutory agencies
Maintaining a confidential log of all concerns and actions taken
Ensuring all facilitators receive appropriate safeguarding training
Reviewing this policy annually and after any safeguarding incident
Liaising with the NSPCC, local safeguarding boards, and statutory agencies as required

4. Facilitator Vetting
All facilitators must, before facilitating any session attended by minors:
Hold a valid Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate with child workforce check
Complete A-Level Exam Mastery's safeguarding induction training (minimum 3 hours)
Sign and return the A-Level Exam Mastery Facilitator Code of Conduct
Acknowledge the Online Conduct Policy
DBS certificates are verified, recorded, and re-checked every three years or upon any change in circumstances reported by the facilitator.
5. Online Safety Standards
No private messaging: Facilitators are prohibited from private messaging students outside monitored Discord channels. All facilitator–student communication must occur in channels visible to moderators.
Session recording: All live sessions are recorded. Recordings are retained for a minimum of 90 days. They are available for review in any safeguarding investigation.
Parent access: Parents or guardians of students under 18 may request access to recordings of sessions attended by their child.
Reporting in-session: Facilitators are trained to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns raised in live sessions, including disclosures made by students.
6. Responding to a Concern
Any person — student, parent, facilitator, or third party — who has a safeguarding concern about any A-Level Exam Mastery student or facilitator should:
